Many laundry businesses offer a wash and fold service these days — also known as wash, dry, fold, or drop-off laundry services. If you haven’t tried these services out for yourself, we’re here to tell you that you’re missing out on the easiest way to do laundry ever!
Here’s how it works:
- Put your clothes in a laundry bag
- Bring it to your neighborhood laundromat
- Drop it off at the front desk
- Come back in 1-2 days for clean clothes
- Repeat as often as needed
It’s that easy.
How do businesses charge?
You may wonder how the price is broken down for this, and rightfully so. The short answer is to expect to pay a bit more than a typical laundromat visit.
The longer answer is that there are two main pricing models: by the bag (usually 13 gallon bags or your average trash bag), or by the pound. Depending on your city and the level of competition in the area, you can expect to pay a bit more or less with either model.
Should I include/leave anything out?
Keep in mind that most wash and fold services focus on everyday laundry items. So if you include dry clean only items, expect a call to ask if you want that item dry cleaned. Otherwise, you don’t have to leave anything out (not even your undergarments!). The only other caveat is that you can expect to pay more for heavy bedding or curtains.
